This is the 2020 vintage of Hécula Monastrell Ecológico, a certified vegan wine. Produced by Bodegas Castaño, this Spanish red wine is a Monastrell varietal from the Yecla DO. It comes from organic vineyards over 50 years old planted at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level. The soils are rocky, sandy and lime. Traditionally vinified, it fermented in stainless steel tanks for 10 days. Subsequently, this organic red wine underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged for 6 months in French 80% and American 20% oak barrels. This varietal red wine from Yecla is undoubtedly one of the best absolute values in Spain.
Bright ruby red color. Powerful nose with intense aromas of ripe red fruit and sweet spices. The palate is delicate, soft, but rich and voluminous at the same time. Long and very well structured. Slight barrel aging of 6 months.
