Valtravieso Reserva Finca La Atalaya is a Reserva red wine produced by Bodega Valtravieso in the D.O. Ribera de Duero with the Tinta Fina variety along with a small part of Cabernet Sauvignon. Valtravieso is a winery that was founded in the 1980s with the aim of promoting the great quality of the wines of Ribera de Duero: wines with body and soul that begin their life in the Finca "La Revilla"; a place located in one of the highest areas of the territory (at 920 meters above sea level) and that, applying innovative techniques, manages to exalt all the virtues of a Denomination of Origin with international prestige. In the vineyard, Finca La Atalaya takes full advantage of the limestone soil of the territory and the great contrast between daytime and nighttime temperatures provided by the Atlantic climate. These conditions, typical of the Spanish plateau, favor the quality of the native grapes. Once the grapes are harvested by hand at their optimum ripening point, they are fermented on their own skins for 35 days. It then spends 15 months in French oak barrels. Once bottled, it continues to refine for about 12 months. Valtravieso Reserva Finca La Atalaya is a red wine that presents the ripe fruit characteristics typical of Ribera de Duero, with the body and finesse provided by the oak.
