Termes is the vibrant expression of Spanish wines, a symbol of the young spirit of Spain. It stands out among the classic wines of Toro for its vigor, freshness and vivacity. Powerful and balanced at the same time, Termes is a perfect wine for immediate consumption.
Founded in 1998, Bodega Numanthia, located in Valdefinjas, in northwestern Spain, in Castilla y León, is an emblematic winery in the Toro region. It is a tribute to the brave warriors of the ancient city of Numancia, whose inhabitants resisted the Roman invader for 20 years around 134 BC, and in the end, preferred death to surrender. We find this same resistance in the wines of Toro, a region with a long tradition in viticulture and winemaking. In fact, these vineyards were planted by pioneering families centuries ago, in Roman times. Since then, they have demonstrated a resilient spirit, surviving the phylloxera plague during the 19th century and extreme weather conditions year after year. During the Middle Ages, Toro wines were also the first in the world to travel to America, transported by Christopher Columbus' ships in 1492. Our old vines, some up to 200 years old, show unique shapes and are located throughout the entire Toro Denomination of Origin. These different "terroirs" constitute a unique heritage and are the basis of our exceptional wines, complex and very elegant. Bodega Numanthia was the first to understand the potential of the Toro region and to reveal to the world an extraordinary terroir.
