In the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana is the estate of Son Grau Gran, an ancient Mallorcan Possesió in the foothills of the mountains, as part of this historical heritage of humanity. The estate is one of the most emblematic of Alaró, dating back to the fourteenth century, consisting of a mosaic of 51 hectares of forest, ancient olive trees on terraced walls and vineyards. The vineyards are arranged in different plots that together with other crops such as carob, almond and olive trees surround the old house of the Posseisó. The vineyards are composed of deep calcareous clay soils with gravel in the higher areas. The ideal terroir for the development of the native varieties Gorgollasa and Excursac.
