Aged in whiskey barrels, 100% Tempranillo. Vines over 60 years old, grape harvesting in boxes and subsequent selection on the table. Fermentation in wooden vats and aged for 18 months in barrels in which whiskey has been aged. Resting for 12 months in bottle before release. Why in whisky casks? The whisky has eliminated a large part of the tannins from the new barrels by dilution with the alcohol, so that the barrels, although new, have hardly any tannin content. In this way the wine does not harden and longer aging is allowed. As the barrel is flavored by the whiskey, this subtle nuance adds complexity to the wine. The vineyard offers vines over 60 years old, located in San Román de Hornija (Valladolid) and La Horra (Burgos) at an average altitude of 720m. Sandy loam soils with large boulders. It is a very aromatic wine, with hints of ripe black fruit, spices, chocolate, toasted nuances (smoke). Structured on the palate but very oily and sweet tannins, with lots of volume and a pleasant finish.
