Ramón Bilbao is one of the most historic wineries in Rioja. Ramón Bilbao Reserva 2015 is the vintage of a traditional Rioja. Created with a Rioja-style blend: Tempranillo as a base, and Graciano and Mazuelo complementing it. And aged in American oak.
Bodegas Ramón Bilbao was founded in 1924 although already in the nineteenth century, the Bilbao Murga family, marketed wines. It is a benchmark in Rioja wines and its wines have traditionally led the bars and tables throughout Spain. And they continue to do so. Until 1966, Bodegas Ramón Bilbao passed from generation to generation until the death of Ramón Bilbao Pozo, the last descendant of the family. Five years later, a new company was formed and the new winery facilities were built, also in Haro. In 1999, the family company Diego Zamora, one of the largest beverage groups in Spain, acquired the winery and gave it a definitive push towards modernization. Today it has a significant production of wine from its own vineyards (75 hectares) as well as controlled vineyards of local farmers with whom it has been working for many years. Its philosophy is focused on maintaining in its wines a personal expression of Rioja Alta, with a fresh and elegant style without losing the typicality of Rioja wines.
One of the great wines of the Rioja Alta area, with great trajectory, excellent profile and constancy. It is made with the typical Rioja red varieties (Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano) and stands out for its high intensity nose with black and fresh red fruit and sweet spices and a balanced, fresh and evolving palate. After malolactic fermentation, it is aged in American oak barrels for 20 months and then remains in the bottle for several months before being released. A wise wine with all the knowledge and flavor of the Rioja Alta. Ready to be consumed now but also for long aging.
