Obalo Crianza is a wine made from vineyards located in the Rioja Alta that was created with the aim of representing the essence of La Rioja, without losing the fruity aromas typical of Tempranillo, but in the line of powerful wines, structured and rounded by its aging in wood.
Obalo La Encina reflects our way of understanding the Rioja Sonsierra. It is a modern wine that seeks the maximum expression of the combination of vineyards from which it comes. We make each plot that makes up this wine separately, knowing that each of them gives us different qualities. With all of them we create a balanced wine full of nuances. From the halls of our winery, it is possible to see this vineyard which is located in the heart of the Rioja Sonsierra and takes its name from two holm oaks that are located in its surroundings. It is a plot close to half a century old with an interesting depth of soil and excellent sunshine, something that makes it possible for us to have, year after year, an optimum level of ripening and which allows us to produce a wine full of nuances. Combined with other vines that complete its ripe and round character, we produce a wine with 14 months of aging in new French oak barrels and up to 3 uses, which goes far beyond the 'Crianza' category to which it belongs.
