Description

Bodegas Martín Códax was founded in 1985 with the name of the most famous Galician troubadour, who used to sing to love and the sea of our coast. His medieval poems, the oldest in the Galician-Portuguese language, are still preserved with the original music. Our wines are elaborated following new elaboration techniques without forgetting the traditional methods.
Martín Códax Arousa is born from a careful selection of plots caressed by the sea, in the area of San Tomé in Cambados. Vineyards that grow at the mouth of the Umia, cultivated by winegrowers with a long seafaring and fishing tradition. The influence of the Arousa estuary and a granitic soil forge its marked saline, iodized and Atlantic character. A persistent and deep wine, with aromas reminiscent of Galician coastal plants such as salicornia and sea fennel.
The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with temperature control and an aging of 18 months. It is a white wine of straw yellow color with greenish reflections. Medium to high intensity on the nose. Citrus, saline and iodized notes, seaweed and low tide - balsamic notes and aromatic herbs such as lime, bay leaf and white pepper. The palate is intense, with a lot of nerve, tasty and very persistent. Citrus and iodized notes on the finish.
