This Italian liqueur is designed on the basis of lemon. Harvesting the lemons is carried out exclusively in Capri or in the Sorrento peninsula, in order to keep the name of the liqueur: limoncello. Produced for over a century, this spirit is developed following a traditional technique. The alcohol is infused with lemon juice, pulp and peel. This enhances the intense flavor and natural citrus aroma. Sugar and water are added for the result. All these beverage preparation processes are carried out within Casa Luxardo, an Italian family-owned company founded in 1821. Since the company was founded by Girolamo Luxardo, it has remained under the ownership of the same family. It exports its products to about 86 countries. The Luxardo Limoncello is one of the most famous liqueur distillery. In 2010, its recipe has undergone some changes, such as the addition of essential oils from Sicilian lemon peels and 25% of fresh lemon juice. This drink was awarded medals many times: bronze medal at the World Spirit Championship in 2001, silver medals at the International Spirits Challenge and Barman Spirits Awards in 2019, etc..
