Herradura añejo tequila is made in the central region of Mexico, Herradura añejo tequila has an alcohol volume of 40 % and is made with a 100 % base of Weber blue agave. It is often compared to the best whiskies in the world for its exquisite taste on the palate.
Tequila Herradura has earned a name in the world. Herradura invented reposado tequila in 1974. It comprises 55 % of all tequila consumed in Mexico. Casa Herradura is the only tequila distillery that uses a 100% natural fermentation process. Tequila Herradura's production process exceeds all government regulations and industry standards. Añejo is aged for 25 months.
Casa Herradura was home to the industry's first master tequila maker, master distiller Teresa Lara López, now retired, grew the art of tequila distilling for 30 years.
