La Celestina Vendimia Seleccionada is a single varietal red wine Tinto Fino, Tempranillo, produced by the Dominio de Atauta winery in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. Dominio de Atauta is located in the Soria town of Atauta. The winery's priority is good winemaking practices because it understands that to obtain quality wines you have to start by pampering the vineyard, which is where the raw material is obtained. The vineyards of La Celestina Vendimia Seleccionada are between 60 and 70 years old in the case of those located in Soria, and between 20 and 30 years old in the case of those located in Burgos. Those in Soria are located at an altitude of between 870 and 980 meters and those in Burgos between 780 and 850 meters. The great difference in temperature between day and night helps the plant to develop better and ripen in a more balanced way. The climate is continental with Mediterranean features: long, cold winters and short, hot summers. The winemaking process seeks balance by blending grapes from Soria, which provide freshness and balsamic notes, and grapes from Burgos, which provide structure, softness and riper fruit aromas. La Celestina Vendimia Seleccionada shows us that Tinto Fino can produce fine, elegant wines with great aging potential.
