Primitivo di Manduria is the ambassador wine of Puglia. Our grapes are carefully selected from 60+ year old, low yielding "albarelli" vines, which grow on red soils rich in iron oxides, over a layer of limestone rock. The combination of these elements creates a wine that can enrich the tasting experience beyond the most ambitious expectations. The wine is aged in first and second use French and American oak barrels for 12 months. Excellent with risotto, first courses of baked pasta, red meats, lamb and tasty cured cheeses. Also with slow-cooked lamb ribs, pappardelle with wild boar ragout, roasts and tournedos Rossini.
Il Bacca Old Vine Primitivo di Manduria from Luccarelli Winery is a powerful and potent red wine marked mainly by residual sugar. This wine usually goes well with poultry, beef or lamb.
