When our family started distilling gin over 150 years ago, Old Tom was the London gin of choice.
Today it is a lesser-known style of gin, but remains a favorite among bartenders for cocktails such as the Martinez, Tom Collins and Ramos Gin Fizz. The generous amounts of botanical ingredients used in our family recipe create a bold citrus and juniper pine character that is smooth and wonderfully delicate, with a subtle underlying sweetness.
Since 1863, five generations of the Hayman family have been concerned with preserving the true English style of gin. For a century and a half the family has prided itself on having distilled authentic English works using family techniques and processes that have been perfected over the generations.
As a result of this knowledge, we offer Hayman's Old Tom Gin, a glorious example of the select botanicals used by this family in the production of their distillates. Like all of the company's gins, Old Tom Gin is true to its 19th century Victorian origins, something that is perfectly appreciated in the subtle sweetness that makes it part of the legitimate English-style gins.
This distillate is characterized by aromas of juniper, mild spices and citrus with subtle earthy notes. On the palate it is rich, round and deliciously smooth with a vibrant citrus flavor and sherbet-like sweetness. Its delicate finish with lingering citrus notes is the perfect closure to the tasting experience.
