Chickens & Seals 75cl

24,00

"Chickens are funny and seals clap their hands". This was the explanation given by the members of the collective of people with disabilities of the Amadip Esment foundation who named the wine. Both the label and the name are the result of the collaboration with the winery 4 Kilos Vinícola. The result is a wine with a high human content, sweet and friendly, with an intense fruity profile and very easy to drink.

Description

In August 2006; Francesc Grimalt, oenologist and former partner and technician of the Anima Negra winery in Mallorca, is known mainly for rescuing the native Callet grape variety in the Balearic wine scene and Sergio Caballero is a musician and founding partner and co-director of the Sónar festival of advanced music and multimedia arts, and responsible for its image, created 4Kilos Wines in Mallorca, a company dedicated to making wines that reflect the strength of the grape and its nuances, but with a different approach and presentation. . .
At the end of September 2006, in the garage of a fellow viticulturist and with little means but with excellent grapes, 4kilos produced its first wine. This one was raised for fourteen months and went on the market in May 2008.
In 2007, together with Apolonia Viticultors -a Balearic agricultural society- they converted an old sheep farm into a small winery. There they were able to produce the 2007 4Kilos vintage and their new project 12Volts 2007 which, after twelve months in the barrel, will be released at the beginning of 2009.
The vineyards are located in different areas in the north and south of Mallorca, the reason being that they do not belong to any specific DO. The vines are mostly planted on Cal Vermell soils, a popular name to describe clay loam soil. The varieties grown are Callet, Cabernet, Sauvignon, French Fogoneu, Merlot, Monastrell and Shyra.
The name 4Kilos comes from the initial investment in the previous pesetas currency by both partners, that is, 4 million pesetas. A modest investment for this sector that shows that a good wine does not depend on a great economic effort but on the ambition for quality and passion for the product. 4Kilos is unmistakable due to its signature and a declaration of principles.
