Errazuriz State Reserva Carmenere 75cl.

The grapes used to make Estate Carmenere were rigorously selected from our own vineyards in the Aconcagua Valley. The Mediterranean climate in this area has moderately warm summer days with cool evening breezes. The high thermal oscillation between daytime and nighttime temperatures during the weeks prior to harvest triggers high concentrations of polyphenols, which intensifies the color in the wine. The grapes for this wine were harvested by hand early in the morning and then taken to the winery, where they were destemmed, crushed and deposited in stainless steel tanks. A 70% of the wine was aged in oak barrels for 7 months to achieve round tannins. Estate Carmenere shows a deep ruby red color with violet tints. The nose presents notes of red bell pepper, with some sweet tones reminiscent of figs and blueberry, all framed by toasted notes and some clove. The palate is spicy, with notes of black fruits, figs, graphite and bell bell pepper. A wine whose structure and texture highlight the typical aspect of the variety with fine-grained tannins, very smooth and pleasant on the palate.
