Errazuriz Aconcagua Alto Carmenere 75cl

This shows why Chile is the king of Carmenere. Aromas of cigar box and black fruit with notes of roasted coffee beans, pepper and delicate leather. The palate is fresh and fruity, with black cherry, roasted red bell pepper and sweet spice. It is elegant and fine, with very polished, velvety tannins complemented by good structure and a silky texture.

Description

The Carmenere grapes used to make this Errázuriz Aconcagua Alto Carmenere 2020 come from a selection of parcels from the Max vineyard, located in the interior of the Aconcagua Valley (Chile), in a terroir with loamy-textured soils of colluvial origin. With measured viticulture and a careful winemaking process, culminating in 14 months of barrel aging, Viña Errázuriz produces a structured, silky red with an impressive range of fruity and spicy aromas.
Errázuriz Aconcagua Alto Carmenere 2020 is a young Chilean red wine made entirely from Carmenere grapes. Harvested by hand and subjected to a double selection, the grapes were crushed and deposited in stainless steel tanks, where alcoholic fermentation took place. The wine was then racked into French oak barrels where malolactic fermentation took place, followed by aging for 14 months. The organoleptic characteristics of Errázuriz Aconcagua Alto Carmenere 2020 are a display of black fruit aromas, spices and a mineral touch, an ideal red to accompany grilled red meats, game, stews and cured cheese. Maximiano Errazuriz founded the Errázuriz winery in 1870 with a pioneering perspective: to cultivate traditional French vines in the Aconcagua Valley. Today his wines are among the most important on the global wine scene.
