E. Guigal Crôzes Hermitage Rouge is a single varietal Syrah red wine from AOC Crozes-Hermitage produced by Domaine E. Guigal, a prestigious family winery in the Rhone Valley founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal. It produces in various appellations in the northern and southern part of the area and has achieved 100 Parker points for some of its wines. The winery owns 140 hectares of vineyards and even its own cooperage since 2003. The vineyards of E. Guigal Crôzes Hermitage Rouge have an average age of 35 years and are planted on soils composed of clay loams and sandy gravels. The area has a predominantly continental climate. The plots are harvested by hand and have an average yield of 40 hectoliters per hectare. E. Guigal Crôzes Hermitage Rouge is vinified in the traditional manner and fermented in temperature-controlled vats. Fermentation and maceration with the skins lasts about 4 weeks. Once vinified, the wine is aged for about 18 months in oak barrels.
