The production of Rosato has a long tradition in the Apulia region. Before pressing, the grapes undergo a cold maceration, which gives the wine its elegant, pale pink tint together with an extraordinary aroma. The result is a wine characterized by a fruity bouquet with a hint of spice and intense aromatic notes of blackberry and red currant, well-structured, balanced and full-bodied.
It all started with a very Italian grape and a great passion for winemaking. The Apulia region is one of the oldest wine regions in the world and one of the reasons for its fame is the aromatic Primitivo grape. Elegant, intense, fruity and ripened under the Apulian sun, it is the basis of Doppio Passo Primitivo and the core of its success story.
What began as a family story in 1928 near Venice by Maria and Carlo Botter has grown into an international success story culminating in the formation of a joint venture between Botter SPA and German wine marketing powerhouse Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien GmbH in September 2020.
