Chateau Brun Saint Émilion Grand Cru is a French wine from one of the oldest vineyards in Bordeaux (Sant Émilion), made from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
The history of the Brun family in Saint-Emilion dates back to 1571. The charming Château Brun is located on a hill facing southwest. As in almost all areas of the Grand Cru St. Emilion, the soil consists of clay and limestone. As a result, the vineyards benefit from optimal drainage and thus ideal conditions for ripening grapes. The main grape variety is Merlot, typical of the region, which is complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The winery has only 11 hectares of vineyards and only produces a total of 55,000 bottles per year of its Grand Cru. There is no second wine at Château Brun. The wine has a deep dark red color. With its expressive nose, optimal fruit and wonderful oak note, it is a classic, full-bodied and well-balanced Grand Cru from Saint-Emilion.
The château works with one of the best winemakers in the country: Gilles Pauquet, also responsible for the Ausone and Cheval Blanc châteaux, supports the excellent wines of the Brun house.
For the production of this great French wine, a selection of the best grapes was made and the three varieties were separated. Fermentation took place between 18 and 20 days in a traditional concrete tank. This wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. In addition, egg albumin was used to carry out the blending. Before bottling, the wine was filtered with a plate to produce a total of 50,000 bottles.
