Bodegas Castillo de Monjardín is a winery located in the center of Navarra, at the foot of the Pyrenees, a privileged area for growing grapes. This area is very influenced by the French history and culture, which gives it the tradition when making its wines with varieties such as Chardonnay, Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon. It has 220 hectares of vineyards located at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level, on sunny slopes and cooled by the "Cierzo", a strong cold wind characteristic of this area. These vines are between 15 and 70 years old. All their wines are made with grapes from their own vineyards, with controlled fermentation and aging in French and American oak barrels. They combine the best traditional methods with innovation, using state-of-the-art winemaking techniques. Their goal is to produce wines of the highest quality that represent the land where they were born. Castillo de Monjardín Pinot Noir El Cerezo is a wine made 100% with Pinot Noir from the El Cerezo estate, a vineyard with more than 30 years of history, located at an altitude of 650 meters above sea level on clay-loam soils. After the harvest, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks for about 10 days at controlled temperature, also with maceration. This wine is aged for 9 months in 300-liter French oak barrels.
