This wine is born in the oldest area of the vineyard, plot 10, located in the estate of "La Dehesa", the vineyard area that Bodegas Castelo de Medina owns next to its facilities in the town of Villaverde de Medina (Valladolid). This plot is characterized by sandy loam soils, deep and stony. The best grape quality is achieved after green pruning in spring and thinning of the clusters to obtain a production of 5000 kg per hectare. 55 hectares of Verdejo variety with an age of 30 years. Exhaustive grape selection harvest after a manual harvest. In the winery the grapes are pampered, after maceration, with gentle pressing and temperature controlled fermentation carried out with indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged for 6 months on its lees in stainless steel tanks and 3 months in French oak barrels. The wine is rounded off in the bottle for at least 3 months.
With this wine we create an evolution of the Verdejo, which maintains its freshness, fruit and balance and adds elegance, finesse and complexity after a delicate winemaking process with aging on lees and a slight barrel aging that rounds off one of our most special wines.
