Barón de Ley launches and elaborates this Riojan white wine with two of the mythical varieties of the area: Garnacha Blanca and Tempranillo Blanco. A wine with rest on lees and a light aging in barrel and concrete tank that is very fruity and floral, with a captivating balsamic background.
Baron de Ley is a family winery founded in 1985 in the D.O.Ca Rioja, a privileged area for the cultivation of vines and for the production of quality wines. The project was conceived following the concept of French châteaux. The winery, surrounded by its own vineyards, is located in a spectacular estate that houses a 16th century monastery, where Benedictine monks were already making wine more than 500 years ago. The name of the winery honors the expression "ser de ley" to reflect our commitment to making well-made, reliable Riojas, as they should be.
Baron de Ley Blanco sobre Lias is made with white Grenache from our Los Almendros estate in Rioja Oriental. Shallow sandy soils with abundant calcareous gravel and white tempranillo from vineyards located at high altitude in the area of Rioja Oriental. Very permeable sandy soils that provide optimal conditions for the production of fresh whites with an elegant acidity. It is made in our concrete tanks, each variety is aged on its lees for a period of around 6 months, combining concrete tanks and French oak barrels. Once this aging is finished, it is blended for another 6 months in concrete tanks until bottling. It is a white wine of straw yellow color with golden reflections, clean, bright and transparent. The nose is complex and fresh with notes of white flowers, white fruit with a balsamic background. The palate is fresh, unctuous and saline.
