Barón de Chirel Verdejo Viñas Centenarias is a unique wine, both for the meticulous attention to detail during the vegetative period and for its subsequent vinification. It is made from very old vines over 100 years old, pre-phylloxera, from the areas of Aldeanueva del Codonal and Aldehuela, in Segovia. These ungrafted vines are goblet-trained and harvested by hand. It is also aged on the lees for 8 months in Austrian Stockinger oak foudres. From all this comes this superb wine, with freshness, energy and density, named in honor of Carlos Hurtado de Amézaga y Zabala, who modernized the family business during the post-war years. Baron de Chirel Verdejo Viñas Centenarias is a bright yellow, clean and brilliant white wine with an expressive and intense nose. Notes of dried flowers and dried fruit stand out against a background of subtle toasted and pastry notes. The palate is dense, long and tasty. Its natural acidity ensures a good evolution in the bottle.
