Angostura 1919® is a rum with a unique history. In 1932, after a catastrophic fire, hundreds of charred barrels filled with rum were found at the Government Rum Bond in Trinidad. The barrels that were filled in 1919 had been aged for 13 years. Named after the year it was bottled, Angostura 1919® is a light golden rum aged in used, charred bourbon oak barrels and distilled in Angostura's continuous multi-column still. It has been produced using the unique blending techniques developed by the Fernandes family in the 1800s, the same blend that was salvaged from the charred barrels of the 1932 fire. An astonishing blend of rums aged between 5 and 14 years, Angostura 1919® is an authentic Trinidadian rum, oaky on the palate, with exotic spices, vanilla, a touch of honey and dried fruits. A luxury sipping rum that pairs wonderfully with desserts and chocolate.
It is a premium rum from Trinidad and Tobago and distilled by Angostura in oak barrels for at least 8 years and slowly macerated with the best sugar cane on the island. The result is explosive for the senses.
